Our Programs

Maitri means friendship in Sanskrit. The Centre’s flagship Maitri programs aim to deepen and grow education, cultural and policy connections between Australia and India by supporting greater sectoral collaboration, creative exchange, scholarships, and policy and academic discourse.

There are two combined Maitri programs:

  • Maitri Grants
  • Maitri Scholarships and Fellowships

The Centre’s broader programming nurtures discussion between government and civil society through annual policy dialogues and events; promotes greater market understanding for Australian businesses; and draws on the capability of Australia’s Indian communities to support stronger trade and investment ties.

The Maitri Fellowships Program will help Australian organisations to support an Australian or Indian academic to undertake research in areas of potential Australia-India cooperation.

Interested applicants can register here to receive updates and further information about the Maitri programs.

The Centre's CEO and Director Network consists of a group of Indian-Australian corporate leaders who will use their expertise to lift Australian business capability on India.
